Lois' sister comes to visit; Someone steals the stone Jason and Lana brought back from China; Clark and Lex rekindle their friendship.
What's up with Lucy: Lois' sister is being chased down a mountain in Switzerland by a bunch of guys in black ski gear. When she gets away, she calls Lois and tells her she's coming for a visit. Lois is happy to see her sister, but worried that she's in trouble. She should be in Europe at a prestigious prep school.
What's up with Lana: Lana and Jason come back from a jog to find that someone has broken into their apartment and stolen the stone. At first they're disturbed and argue over who could have stolen the stone, but then, they decide their lives will be better off without it and seem content to let it pass into another's hands.
What's up with Lois: She isn't so happy with her sister hanging around. She loves Lucy, but when her mother died, she was put in charge of her younger sibling and their relationship has been rocky ever sense. Lucy is pawned off on Chloe while Lois goes to work at the Talon. When Chloe and Lucy show up later, Lucy and Lex hit it off immediately.
What's up with Jason: He goes to the mansion and confronts Lionel. He accuses him of stealing the stone. When Lionel doesn't admit to any wrong doings, Jason throws him against the wall several times. Lana witnesses the assault and runs off crying.
What's up with Clark: Lucy sneaks out of the farm and Clark catches her stealing from the Talon. She tells him she owes a loan shark $50,000. She's in over her head and doesn't want to get her family involved. Clark promises not to tell, but goes to Chloe for help tracking down the load shark. Lois overhears them talking and with Clark in tow confronts her sister, who's at the mansion with Lex. Lucy is furious at Clark and Lois and tells everyone she can handle the problem herself. Lex comes to the rescue and tells Lucy he knows how to deal with extortionists.
How it ends up: Lex, Lucy and Lois go to pay off the loan shark, and initiate their plan to capture him, but, they get caught in a trap. The loan shark dresses up like a cop and takes the bonds, Lucy and Lois. Lex is pistol whipped and left unconscious on the ground. The next day, Lois and Lucy are being held hostage, at least that's what Lois thinks. When the loan shark opens up the truck to feed them, he throws them two sandwiches, one without tomatoes... How does he know Lucy doesn't like tomatoes? She's in cahoots with the loan shark, looks like Lois is the only hostage here.
Clark and Lex become wise to Lucy's deception. When the ransom call is made to Lex, Clark overhears where the bonds are to be placed and super speeds his way to the scene. He jumps onto a moving semi and knocks out the loan shark, leaving him for Lex and his men to find moments later. Lucy and Lois were in the trailer, in Lex's car while Clark was saving the day. Lex checks up on Lois while Lucy evades one of Lex's henchmen and steals Lex's car. She drives by Lois and Lex and mouths "sorry" as she speeds off down the road. Looks like crime does pay for some people. Lucy's not found and she got away with $50,000.
Lex and Clark bond later as Lex tells Clark he's closer than any blood brother ever could be. Meanwhile Lois is still shook up about her sister's betrayal and Lionel realizes Lex didn't steal the stone after the two quip back and forth. The real thief? It's Lana! She stole the stone and hid it in a pipe!

Lois: It's called beng nice.
Clark: Well if yo were any nicer, we'dall starve.
Lois (to Lucy): You're gonna find that Clark's charm is an acquired taste, much like his fashion sense.
Lana: Remember when our biggest worry was trying to find a place to steal a kiss?
Jason: Yeah. You usually preferred under the bleachers.
Lex (to Clark): Two Lanes under one roof. That's got to be interesting.
Lucy: I swear I'm not a criminal.
Clark: Well, you do a good job impersonating one.
Chloe (to Lois): Before you go all Lifetime heroine, remember this isn't the school bully she's dealing with.
Lucy: Are we there yet?
Lois: Have you ever been in a car and not uttered those words?
Becker (to Lois): You wouldn't want Lucy to be an only child, would you.
Lex (to Clark): Just because you have the same blood running through your veins doesn't make you family.
Clark: Do you ever miss not having a sibling?
Lex: I used to until I met you Clark. You're closer to me than any blood brother.
Lex (to Lionel): Dad, clearly the idea of personal space is lost on you.
Lionel (to Lex): Either you're the best con man in the world or you're truly unbelievably naive.
Lois (to Clark): There is something cathartic about telling a three star general to go to hell.
Lois: You're amazing, Smallville. You always look for the best in people even when they walk all over you.
Clark: I guess that explains why we're friends.
Lois: Oh, we're friends now?
Clark: Well, I won't tell anyone if you don't.

In Switzerland, a woman skier is attacked by two men and manages to escape. In Smallville, Lois is awakened by the woman calling her – it turns out it's her sister Lucy. After a less-than-successful breakfast, Lois breaks the news to the Kents that her sister Lucy is coming . . . just as she arrives. She and Clark get off well, much to Lois' disappointment. Jason and Lana return to their apartment to discover the place is robbed and the Kryptonian stone is missing. Lana is glad to see it gone – hoping they can get back to a normal relationship.
Lois reveals she has issues with her sisters while Lucy makes herself comfortable with Clark's circle of friends. A man arrives and appears to be watching her. Jason confronts Lionel who denies any knowledge of the stone's theft, and Lana walks in and sees Jason's continuing interest. Lucy breaks into the Talon and steals the money from the safe, but Clark catches her. She reveals she went to a loan shark, Marcus Becker, who was the guy watching her earlier. She owes $50,000 and Chloe identifies him. They go to Lex's manor where Lucy already is – she doesn't want anyone's help even when Lex chips in.
Lucy comes around and Lex puts up the bearers bonds, as he knows Becker's employer, a German syndicate. Lex takes the bonds in with Lucy and Lois, but en route they're pulled over by the police . . . who turns out to be Becker in a stolen uniform and car. Lex has a tracking device in the case but Becker transfers the bodns to a bag and then cold-cocks Lex. Lois attacks him but he takes both women prisoner in a semi while Clark goes to the warehouse, which turns out to be an innocent business.
Becker plans to use the Lanes for ransom for Lex's money, but both Clark and Lois figure out that Lucy is playing them – she's involved with Becker to get the money. When Becker calls, Clark uses his super-hearing to track the call while Lucy explains she's been doing the crimes out of jealousy over Lois' relationship with their father. Clark superspeeds to the rendezvous site and jumps onto the semi, then knocks out Becker and departs as Lex and his security arrive. Lex prepares to turn Lucy over to the authorities but she escapes.
Lex meets with Clark and notes he can use Becker as a bargaining chip, even though he's out the $50,000 that Lucy took. Lionel reveals that Jason visited him and accuses Lex of taking the stone, but Lex is unaware that Jason had it and seems innocent of theft. At her apartment, Lana reveals that she hid the stone herself without telling Jason or anyone else.
Lois's sister Lucy comes to visit, but not before a daring James Bond sequence where she skis down a dangerous slope while pursued by...what are those? Ninja loan sharks? Before you can say "K-12 from Better Off Dead," Lucy has made arrangements to come stay with Lois at her new home, Kent Farm. Lucy arrives, flirts with Clark, and then lets it be known that she owes a dude back in Europe $50,000 (USD). Clark, who never met a manipulative girl he didn't like, tries to help her out, inadvertently getting Lex's help in fronting the money. Turns out the whole thing was just a scam -- even the ski chase, which was merely put on for our own edification. Thank you, Smallville! Lucy, who was mostly raised by Lois in a tough household with "The General," takes off, but not before winning the hearts of like at least two or three viewers, maybe. Clark and Lex are apparently best buddies again, which must have all happened between episodes where we couldn't see it. Jason and Lana, meanwhile, find their apartment ransacked for the power stone they found last week. Jason goes to accuse Papa Luthor, who swears he didn't steal it. Lana catches him confronting Papa Luthor after Jason had promised to just let it go and focus on their relationship. Papa lets slip to Lex what happened with the stone. But both are unaware that it was Lana who took the thing, hiding it herself to keep it away from Jason. Sneaky Lana! In one weirdly random sequence near the end, Clark looks into the sky with his telescope and sees two comets collide. Expect massive tidal waves and tornados to kill everyone in the next episode.

Synopsis Lucy comes to town, and brings some interesting secrets with her.
High Point The single bound was cool, even if there weren't any tall buildings.
Low Point Chloe is turning into Pete; used rarely, but used well. She could use some more screen time, given recent developments.
The Review
This wasn't that original in terms of plot, but you have to give them credit for setting up the comparisons and parallels between the families. I give it 4 out of 6.
The effects this week were some of those we've seen before, and one very nice new one. I give it 5 out of 6.
The story, predictable as it was, still managed to hold together well. It also allowed for some great character moments near the end. I give it 4 out of 6.
The acting this week wasn't too bad. Peyton List was an appropriate choice for Lucy Lane, and played off of Erica Durance well. Welling can still be stiff at times, but his heroic behaviour is shaping up nicely. I give it 4 out of 6.
The emotional response wasn't particularly strong until the rescue. That was a great scene, particularly when they kept some effect shots quite rapid, so it wasn't obvious what was going on. It played out with the effects, but not for the effects. I give it 5 out of 6, primarily for that great scene. Clark's behaviour from start to finish is exactly what I'd expect from a developing Superman.
The production was, again, well done. The Rockies are close enough to Vancouver to double nicely for the Swiss Alps, and the opening sequence managed to grab attention well with some difficult shooting. I give it 5 out of 6.
Overall, this wasn't spectacular, but it was a good episode. I give it 5 out of 6.
In total, Lucy receives 32 out of 42.

Spoilers:
It sounds like Clark is going to enter a bull riding ring. Chloe makes a comment to Clark "Like anyone here is going to be any competition for you?" which makes Clark raise an eyebrow. Lucy looks over at Clark in the ring, and says to Lois "You can't tell me he's not your type." Lois makes a smart remark back to her. After Clark handles the bull, it seems Lois has been volunteered to do the same thing. Following this scene, Clark catches Lois's little sister, Lucy, stealing. Lucy says she feels like an outsider, and asks Clark "Do you have any idea what it's like to be different from everyone else?" Lucy tells Clark about how she goes to a boarding school with "the wealthiest kids in the world." "I had to be like them, look like them. And that's an expensive undertaking," she says, trying to justify her thievery. Lucy got in trouble with a loan shark in Germany - to the tune of 50 thousand dollars. Lana and Jason confront Lionel in the Luthor garden, demanding to know where something is. We think "something" is a stone. There is a scene with Lois and Lex - so they ARE able to meet after all! Lois and Lex are riding somewhere together in his Ferrari, and Lex gets pulled over for speeding. Or so it seems. The officer demands he puts his hands up in the air. There's a character named Marcus Becker who is involved with the pulling-over. Marcus is after Lucy and the money, apparently. Lois tries to use her Lois-Fu to rescue Lex but Becker gets the upper hand. The scene seems to end with Lois and Lucy kidnapped (again) and they are locked in a storage shed. Lucy's got some wit in her, kind of like a junior version of her older sister. Becker's gotten his money that he was owed, but now he sees new opportunity for even more money - money that can come from Lex Luthor's accounts. KryptonSite
